The Rhone River runs through Arles, France on the Eastern side of the city

Description

This is a city in the Provence region of southern France, which lies along the Rhône River. There are numerous paintings by Van Gogh who were inspired by this place, and the art displayed at Fondation Vincent Van Gogh is also heavily influenced by his paintings. Originally the provincial capital of ancient Rome, Arles is also known for many remnants from that era, such as the Arles Amphitheater (Les Arènes d'Arles), which is where plays, concerts and bullfights are held today.
