The city of Arles is located on the banks of the Rhône River in the southern corner of France, in the Provence region. There is no doubt that this picturesque region was the inspiration for the paintings of Van Gogh, which had a great influence on the contemporary art displayed at the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh.
