Jamaica White Witch Golf Course | White Witch Golf Course

This 5000-acre historical Jamaican plantation boasts an 18-hole golf course that is carved out of 600 acres of lush greenery and rolling countryside, offering panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea from 16 of its 18 holes, which winds its way through the mountains of the historic Rose Hall Plantation. There is a par-71, 6,719-yard golf course located within Jamaica's premier golf resort, The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort. The course was named by its architects, golf course architects Robert von Hagge and Rick Baril, to commemorate the beauty of the 19th century, Annee Palmer, the owner of the sugar plantation which is the site of the golf course. It is a precision club and ball sport, in which players use a variety of clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a golf course in the least number of strokes possible, using the fewest amount of energy. In addition, it is one of the very few ball games that do not require a standardized playing area in order to play. Rather, golf is played on "courses", each of which is characterized by the design of its own unique hole, although most courses are either composed of nine holes or 18 holes, depending on the course. Generally, golf is defined in the rules of golf to be the sport of hitting a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole using a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with those rules. A golf competition is generally played for the least number of strokes by an individual, known as stroke play, or for the lowest score on the most individual holes during a complete round of golf by an individual or team, known as match play.
